John Tatley |
Kevin Burns |
John Tatley and Kevin Burns shared the 2004 MVP award for the tournament in close voting by the team. John picked up his first MVP award as he played his usual stellar defense, blocking everything in the dirt and throwing out two would-be base stealers. He was also an offensive force batting .320, scoring eight runs and driving in four. Kevin pitched great, as always, while picking up all four of the team's wins, posted a 1.20 ERA and struck out 24 batters in 30 innings of work. This was Burnsy's second MVP award. Mike Staller came in third in voting after batting .435. Check back next week to see who wins the 2005 award! |
2005 Roy Hobbs World Series Schedule The Millers have drawn a good schedule this year. We really don't know Point Thunder or the Cardinals at all but PT was in AAA last year so they should be good. The Cardinals lost to the MN Bandits in the A playoffs last year so, hopefully, we can take them. Jet Box lost the AAAA losers bracket final to Harry Young Builders last year so they will probably be very tough. We beat the Utah Mets in the playoffs last year 11-5 even though they thought they would kill us. I hope we stick it to them again. At least we're playing three teams that we've never faced before. That's much better than last year when our first four games were against teams we had played several times in the past. I really think we should be 2-2 after the first four games but, if we only go 1-3 and win Thursday's seeding game that should give us a high AA slot, which wouldn't be all bad either. Keep checking back for more updates. |
